"The Immortal Leg" -- Grand master Chen's Deesui (ground skill) kung fu style

Deesui style kung fu was documented in the ming dynasty of in 1568. An author by the name of Zheng York Junn, " Southern River history", the 8th series of the book "weaponry" to the 18 rolling and grappling forms. Later in the ming dynasty in the year of 1584, general Guy Kwon check also publish his new martial arts summery which mention Deesui style ground fighting. The founder of the DeeSui style was a nun from a white lotus temple near the shalin Temple. Due to the small physique of a martial arts nun name April master, one day she was intrigued by the dog fight and created the Deesui style kungfu. A white lotus Temple nun's later joined the famous general named Jun Shing Kung foght off the Dutch invasion in Taiwan, and later fight against the ching Government. The Temple was later burned down by the ching government. Master April escape to the wingchun Village. She then passed her skill to a shaolin kung fu stylists named Chen Ah Bill. Chan ah on owns a herbal store in Singapore. One day a robbery occurred at next-door, a jewelry store owned by Chen Guow who had study several kung fu style with his father(which include monkey style, Dragon style, snake style). As he knocked out one of the Robert, four or five more Robert charged at him,Ah on suddenly appeared in front of the robbers. With one kick knocks out one Robert and never miss a strike, the robbers ran for their lives. Chan Guow was very impressed and fascinated with Chen Ah on 's skill. Chan guow later invited Chan ah on to live with him, and trained him intensively, Chan guow learned defensive and offensive, high, medium, and the low-level ground maneuvers. DeeSui style fighting emphasize on the conditioning of the legs and the application of falling while using leverage in defensive and offensive strike and grappling.
DeSui KungFu is not easy to learn. One must have a strong foundation before training in application which Chan Gouw had to push himself harder than his training with his father. Later Chan Guow was able to break a 5 inch tree trunk with his shin kick.
In 1929, a top Russian martial artists , who was undefeated in 11 countries, came to Singapore to challenge the Asian martial artists. He defeated many great fighters of different backgrounds, they include Pan Jet Silate, Tai-kick boxers , Bumise kick boxer , Philippine kick boxer and kung fu stylists, Chan witnessed the Russian Champ even fought off five challengers in the same time. And later he had came to insult and challenge the Chan school, grand master Chen accepted the death dull. From the beginning of the match, the 6'5" tall and 300 pounds Russian champion initiate a series of Stormy blows to the upper body of Chan, who stands only 5'5", and 120 pounds. Chan immediately roll on the ground and send a bat flopping wing kick to the Russians leg, a crack was heard and follow by a scream from the Russian champion, a scream shop shortly, Chan place a bat double leg choke which also immobilize the Russians arm. Chan spared the paralyze Russian champion. From then on Chan was nicknamed " iron leg" and " immortal leg".
Grand master Chen can still kick and bent a 2 inch diameter steel rod at the age of 90, in the picture he demonstrates a reversal take down at the age of over a hundred during 1983.
